About Christian Women In Governance
Good governance, grounded in faith
Grounded in Christian Faith and Values, we are dedicated to good governance — recognising the importance of faith-based values in leadership and directorship.
We celebrate the pivotal role women play in the health and effectiveness of boards. The CWIG program offers the training, mentoring and networks women need to serve faithfully and effectively as directors.
What we do

Our Story
Christian Women in Governance (CWIG) was founded in 2022 with a deep passion for strengthening governance within Christian organisations across Australia.
The founders of CWIG recognised the urgent need to equip more Christian women for governance and board leadership. Their vision was to create a wide and capable pool of Christian women — from all denominations, backgrounds, professions, and experiences — who could serve faithfully and wisely on boards throughout churches, schools, ministries, charities, not-for-profit organisations, and ultimately, across every sector.
From the beginning, CWIG committed to providing world-class governance training and leadership development opportunities. Through strategic partnerships, mentoring, networking, and nationally recognised governance training through the Australian Institute of Company Directors, women have been empowered to step confidently into positions of influence and responsibility.
Since its inception, CWIG has trained more than 250 women across Australia, equipping both aspiring and experienced directors to serve with integrity, wisdom, courage, and Kingdom purpose.
